# Calistrat Hogaș Memorial Museum

The house where writer Calistrat Hogaș (1847–1917), author of 'On Mountain Roads' and 'In the Neamț Mountains', lived from 1871 is the only literary memorial museum in Piatra Neamț.

The house where writer Calistrat Hogaș (1847–1917), author of 'On Mountain Roads' and 'In the Neamț Mountains', lived from 1871 is the only literary memorial museum in Piatra Neamț. His daughter Sidonia set up the first exhibition here in 1939 and donated the property to the state in 1967; the museum officially opened in 1969. Six rooms recreate the atmosphere of the early 20th century with more than 300 memorial objects. The building is a listed historic monument (NT-II-m-B-10565).
